Breakfast Tailgate

Saturday was my first ECU tailgating experience...and it was early. The game started at noon so we got to our spot at about 8:15 am. At our tailgate, the breakfast of champions...beer, hot dogs, bean dip and some drink with cool-aid and everclear...

Every school has their own unique tailgate culture. It was different from Washington to Oregon State and everywhere you have to learn to adjust.

Here at ECU tailgating is serious business and is spread out all over town. Basically wherever you can find a place to put your car, you can tailgate including the mall or a grocery store parking lot. The band marches up college hill and around the neighborhoods by the stadium on their way into the game which gets people all excited. Cornhole is everywhere and is the official tailgating sport of ECU. Some girls wear dresses in purple and gold and I saw a few guys in shirts and bow ties, but it is not necessarily the norm here. We listened to a blend of pop music and country, pirate flags are on everyone's vehicle, and I got made fun of for forcing our tailgate to recycle our cans and eating a granola bar that I had brought in my purse.
