Thursday Dinner Club

For the last three Thursday's Austin, Terrance, and Travis have joined me for dinner. It all began with a cinco de Mayo celebration and another attempt for Karen to have a party at her place. These three gentlemen took me up on my offer and after margarita's and enchiladas we decided we needed to do it again.

So I brought back a grad school tradition of someone picking a recipe out of my Test Kitchen cookbook and me giving it a shot. Terrance due to his dislike of spicy food or anything tomato based, aka not into enchiladas, got to pick first. Last week in honor of Terrance we had Brown Ale pan seared chicken with asparagus and rice. It was awesome! Tonight in honor is Austin we had orecchiette pasta with sausage, broccoli and red peppers...it was awesome as well. Basically everything out of this cookbook is amazing! It all turns out so well and makes a relatively moderate cook like me look like I really know what I am doing.

Hopefully the tradition will continue as it is fun to cook and have an excuse to have friends over and around.
