Boys in Bowties & Values Congruence

This past week, while my fellow students and cohort members were studying for and taking finals I was in Florida at the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisers Conference in Jacksonville Florida. While it seems mighty glamorous to be in Florida, it was cold (ok...like 60) and rainy the whole time and like any conference I was inside the majority of the time. Overall it was a wonderful experience though and great to catch up with and meet so many Greek professionals and national organization representatives. Here are a few of the highlights:

*Getting to catch up with Dominic & Cori...so many funny things to catch up on from years ago

*Leaving a restaurant just after we got there due to seeing a mouse as we sat down

*Having to eat at the most random sketchy outdoor mall within waking distance from the hotel for every meal. It was full of moving nutcrackers, deserted shops, outdoor bars, and terrible live music each night.

*Attending both the TKE and Iowa State Reception parties out of pure randomness

*Sitting next to Brian, the Sig Ep consultant, who helped to re-colonize the chapter at UW...ladies you may remember having his picture as the background of all the computers on the study porch. He still deserves to be there

*Continuing to deal with my problem of not being able to go to sleep until everyone else is gone by staying up way to late each night in the hotel bar

*Loving every minute of seeing boys dressed up in suits and bow ties.

*Seeing wonderful Chi O HQ friends, past consultant friends, and past S.H. Jean

And SO much more. Here's to the world of professional conferences that are to come... and to strengthening our community and inspiring our members one day at a time.
